Animation College New Zealand is a Category 1 provider, and as the registered PTE, awards all of the qualifications offered by Yoobee School of Design, AMES – The Institute of IT and South Seas Film & Television School. Delivering vocational tertiary programmes highly relevant to the creative and IT sector, college courses include content development, film, television and acting, design, 2D and 3D animation, and game art, with an additional focus on technology development (including software, hardware and cloud technology) across Certificates, Diplomas and Bachelor qualifications. Our courses are delivered across the country, in campuses located in Auckland’s North Shore, Auckland Central, Manukau, Rotorua, Wellington and Christchurch.   Continuously developed in close consultation with industry and key community stakeholders, these programmes provide learners with the skill levels required to gain employment in the creative industries, at both a technical and professional level.   The Creative & IT Colleges form part of ACG Education’s Vocational & Higher Learning Division.

We are looking for a full time, permanent Academic Quality Assurance Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. You will be responsible for providing leadership to ensure the quality and integrity of all academic and regulatory compliance frameworks across the Creative and ICT Colleges.  

Key duties of the role include:
  • Supporting and motivating the Quality team to achieve success
  • Ensuring the organisation has a clear understanding of the importance of academic quality
  • Managing relationships with NZQA
  • Overseeing regulatory audit and compliance across the group
  • Leading the on-going review and improvement of academic systems and process to ensure best practise and maintenance of EER category 1 status
  • Design and implement a rigorous single entity academic quality framework for the Creative and IT Colleges Group, this will involve merging a number of business areas
  • Develop and implement the Group QMS strategy and other related guidelines.  

To be successful you will have:
  • Extensive experience in a senior quality assurance management role, ideally within the education sector and private education
  • Experience of working in a quality assurance role where Bachelor (Level 7 and above) qualifications are awarded and part of the academic delivery
  • Knowledge and intricate understanding of the NZ tertiary sector, in particular NZQA/TEC/NCEA education processes
  • Demonstrated ability to operationalize strategic plans effectively
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to lead and manage high-performance Academic and Quality teams of people effectively to achieve set compliance/regulatory goals and targets

Objectives
Develop and implement the Group QMS strategy and other related guidelines.
Hold the ability to scan the regulatory environment, impact assess situations and provide sound, strategic, advice to CEO and SLT
Put in place a framework that ensures all regulatory processes are adhered to and requirements are met across the group
Implement and ensure maintenance of appropriate risk, breach, incident and complaints registers
