The Campbell Institute is the largest and longest running English language school in Wellington and Auckland.    Our Wellington campus is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and organised person to take up the part-time fixed-term role of Activities Coordinator.   

Based in our warm and friendly campus in The Railway Building the role of Activities Coordinator is responsible for successfully coordinating and leading activities around the Wellington region and potentially further afield for our international students.   

Key Responsibilities: 
·        Plan and coordinate appropriate activities for students 
·        Liaise with Campus Manager in relation to timing and other logistics 
·        Provide printed and digital advertising for all planned activities to the students on Campus 
·       Actively and appropriately manage social media activity relating to student activities including the advertising of upcoming events and showcasing those that have taken place. 
·        Provide monthly summary of student numbers and payment information 
·        Ensure appropriate monitoring and communication regimes are in place for all activities to meet Health and Safety requirements   

The successful candidate will
·        Have a dynamic personality and the ability to provide students with enjoyable and valuable experiences while they are based in Wellington for their English studies 
·        Be comfortable interacting with young people from a variety of cultures, for whom English is not their first language ·        Be very organised, have great initiative and the ability to operate effectively unsupervised 
·        Have well-developed administrative and communication skills, both verbal and written 
·        Be comfortable managing content on common social media platforms 
·        Hold a valid First-Aid certificate

Title: Activities Coordinator (6+ months Fixed Term)
Reports to: Campus Manager

Role Purpose:
The role is responsible to coordinate and lead activities for students studying at the L4, 2 Bunny St Wellington campus of The Campbell Institute.   This role is 0.5FTE and includes the expectation that some hours will be undertaken during weekends.


Key Accountabilities

Planning
  • Plan and coordinate activities for students, scheduled for outside of class hours including at least one activity per weekend
  • Liaise with Campus Manager in relation to timing and other logistics Communication ·        
  • Provide printed and digital advertising for all planned activities to the Campus at least two weeks prior to the scheduled date ·        
  •  Engage appropriately to advertise events through social media channels in coordination with Campus Manager ·        
  •  Be present in person at relevant events on campus to promote activities as appropriate ·        
  •  Organise for photos and videos of activities to be recorded, for use in social media channels (manage permissions from students for such use
  • Actively manage social media activity in relation to activities being organised  

  Delivery ·         
  • Lead at least one weekend activity per week ·         
  • Lead at least 8 week day activities per month Safety ·         
  • work with the Campus Manager to ensure appropriate monitoring and communication regimes are in place for all activities to meet Health and Safety requirements, and the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice requirements ·         
  •   hold a valid First-Aid certificate ·         
  •   monitor students' needs and reporting any issues or concerns to an appropriate staff member ·         
  •   seek permissions for under 18-year-old students to attend ·         
  •   take a functioning phone on all activities Financial ·        
  •   Administer any required monetary payments between students and activity suppliers or venues
  • Provide monthly summary of student numbers and payment information to Campus Manager
