Description
Title: School Nurse  
Reporting to: Principal
Functional Relationship: Deputy Principal, Support staff, Deans, Homestay Providers, Parents & Teachers                                                 

Main Objectives
To provide the highest standard of professional healthcare for students (and staff) 

Key Tasks
  • To provide oversight of ill and/or injured personnel 
  • To maintain a high standard of hygiene in the sick bay 
  • To regularly check and supply the First Aid boxes 
  • To keep a register of students who require First Aid or nurse attention and ensure supporting documentation is accurate and timely 
  • To ensure students with serious ailments are forwarded on to the appropriate medical providers 
  • To drive students to their homes and external medical providers when necessary for health-related incidents 
  • To liaise with Deputy Principal and advise on First Aid training for staff 
  • To liaise with outside agencies as required via Principal (i.e. Public Health Nurse, Dental van, Vision and Hearing) and facilitate visits   
  • To ensure medications are kept secure at all times 
  • To ensure all materials relating to student health are available and distributed as per the Group’s policy 
  • To complete administration as required to maintain the database for student health information 
  • To establish, maintain and develop the Health Centre and the provision of healthcare and associated systems and procedures 
  • To provide management reports, as necessary, relating to the operations of the Health Centre 
  • To consult with the senior management team and to assist with the development of policies, procedures and systems relating to Student Health, as necessary. 
  • To play an active role in the team that provide administrative support and services to the wider school (reception, attendance, uniform sales, library supervision), helping out with reception duties as required 
  • Implement procedures, liaise with parents and teachers and manage students who have requested special arrangements in examinations.  

And to perform all other duties as may reasonably be required by the Principal
